The de Seversky Mansion is a historic Gold Coast mansion on the North Shore of Long Island. Originally built for a member of the duPont family, the mansion has been preserved in all its robber baron splendor and it makes for a particularly spectacular wedding venue. Bella Flowers is a preferred vendor of the de Seversky mansion and has helped create some unforgettable events there.
On a crisp day last fall Blaine and Dan were married, surrounded by their family, friends, and Bella’s beautiful jewel-toned flowers. This large arrangement greeted guests with the bright tones of red, lavender and apricot roses, brilliant blue hydrangeas, and an accent of purple stock.
The bride wore a single orange calla lily in her hair, and, uniquely in all the brightly colored wedding flowers, carried an all-white bouquet. Her attendants, however, carried tight bouquets of jewel-toned roses and purple stock.
For the ceremony in the de Seversky’s glass-enclosed Garden Room, bright sunflowers were paired with apricot roses on the aisle. Red and apricot rose petals lined the aisle up to the chuppah, decorated with blooms in bright fall tones of apricot, red and russet.
In the oak-paneled ballroom, purple tulips were added to the arrangement of blue hydrangea, roses and stock to create low centerpieces set in silver bowls. The cake was decorated with perfect specimens of the centerpiece flowers.
