There is no doubt that brides love vintage wedding flowers, so we look forward to seeing some truly beautiful weddings in 2014. Have you noticed how the details are evolving due to the inspiration of movies like “The Great Gatsby”, and television series like“Downton Abbey” ?  To help you get truly inspired, we’ve put together a few photos of vintage wedding flowers and the details that are catching the eyes of brides-to-be.

Below is a Great Gatsby-inspired bridal bouquet.  Feathers bring it a subtle, delicate appearance, while the pink jeweled brooch surrounded by soft pink roses, and white peony and orchids takes center stage.

Bridal Bouquet Idea:  Lace is making a major comeback this year.  Why not tailor- wrap your bouquet stem in a swath from your Mother’s wedding dress? (below)

Bridal Musings brought us these beautiful inspirations below:

The first bouquet is made up of “gorgeous peach tulips with feathery blush pink astilbe”. The second is a “tight dome of roses, carnations and hypericum, enveloped in a gold wire collar” with a few soft, cream pearls dangling.  Instead of being in the bouquet, the feathers were added to the shoes for a nice soft touch.

Wedding Flower Tablescape: A tall silver candalabra with draping pearls set in a bouquet of delicate white and blush garden roses, surrounded by crystal candlesticks. A soft feather is added to the single blush rose in a teacup. Lace placemats and a border lace centerpiece doily finish off this beautiful tablescape.

Cocktail Hour:  Another returning wedding trend is the cocktail hour.  It’s a great idea to keep guests entertained while the bride and groom are changing, or just to set a relaxed atmosphere for them.  Vintage julep cups with a mix of ‘just picked’ flowers are a nice way to decorate your cocktail tables.
