Cara expressed these words to us about their beautiful wedding day & wedding flowers. With their wedding colors being turquoise and black, both the bridal bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets popped with hues of white, cream, pale pink, soft peach, mauve and lavender.
Beautiful photos by Konrad Kolen Photography.
When we asked Cara to share their love story with us, Steven refreshingly joined right in! It’s a touching story with an unusual twist, and some genuine words of advice for others.
How did you meet?
We met on Eharmony. Both of our accounts were up within a week or two, and we were both exhausted from going on dates that didn’t go well. Neither of us were going to renew our accounts. I saw Steven’s profile and figured it was worth one last shot. He messaged me back right away. We went back and forth for a few days until we agreed to meet that weekend.
Where did you go on your first date?
Our first date and favorite restaurant to go to is Mario’s in East Setauket, NY. Great Italian food and a very comfortable atmosphere.
Where did you propose?
I proposed on the beach in Wildwood, NJ on August 3rd, 2012. I chose this location more so because of the people we were with. Each year, Cara’s entire family travels down the coast to Wildwood, NJ. I knew how much her family meant to her and knew she would love to be able to celebrate with them immediately after. (So sweet and thoughtful!)
If there is one thing you know you’ll never forget about your wedding day, what would it be?
Our ceremony… Msgr. Andrzej married us in St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hempstead. I’ve known him for years, as my first job was in the rectory. Our ceremony was very personal.
Is there something you would do differently that you can share with other couples?
There is nothing I would have done differently, but some advice: Don’t be close minded to unorthodox methods of meeting other singles. Not only did I meet my wife on eHormony, but my best friend did as well. People poked fun early on, but we got the last laugh.
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We stayed at the Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita in Riviera Maya, Mexico. This was the most amazing place we’ve ever been. It was absolutely beautiful, and we were treated like royalty the entire time we were there.
Wow, what a special story! Thank you for sharing it with us, Steven and Cara. We’re happy you had such a wonderful wedding and that we had a part in making it beautiful. May your marriage be filled with many more special memories along the way.
