We asked Alex if she would share how they met with our viewers on our blog, and she gladly did so.  It’s a very sweet story that we know you’ll enjoy.  Read it below:

Alex and Brian – Their Beautiful Love Story

In June 2008, Brian and I met through mutual friends at an outdoor Indian bar and restaurant. We became very good friends over the next few months until he got the courage to ask me out.

Our first date was one of the coldest days in January. We took the train into Manhattan to enjoy a sushi dinner in Times Square and ice skating at Rockefeller Center. Afterward, we walked through a park frozen to our cores, but we didn’t seem to notice it. We just didn’t want the night to end… and the rest is history.

How did Brian propose?
One evening, a little after midnight, I walked through our apartment door after seeing the Nutcracker Ballet in Manhattan with a friend. While I was out, Brian strategically placed notes that used important moments in our relationship as clues to discover my Christmas gifts. When I got to the last note, the final gift was an engagement ring and Brian down on one knee in the spot where we first kissed.

If there is one thing you know you’ll never forget about your wedding day, what would it be?
The moment the doors opened, seeing Brian waiting… and walking down the aisle with my dad. Throughout all the planning, I was convinced I wouldn’t be the one to cry, and I did. Brian says the same thing about the moment and how I was walking toward him.

Is there something you would do differently that you can share with other couples?
Music is very important to keep everyone entertained and maintain the proper mood. Our dj and music were disappointing. We went to a wedding recently that had a live band. Not only were they very talented but it really made the wedding so memorable and fun. I would have hired them in a heartbeat for my wedding.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to San Juan (Puerto Rico), St. Marten, Labadee (Haiti) and Bermuda. A perfect trip for relaxation and adventure! Our favorite parts of the trip were kayaking and zip lining.

Wow! Your honeymoon sounds like it was great fun!  Thank you for sharing your wedding proposal story with us, Alex.  It was a privilege being a part of making your wedding day memories beautiful. We wish you many more happy memories together.
